Elektrochemie LK - Girl! - Leaded 17

The 17th EP of this subdivision of German label Fuel Records is made of remixes of the "Girl!" track released by Elektrochemie LK on Confused Records and based on a very old hit by The Kinks published in 1964. The first side starts with the techno version dedicated to the dancefloor by Thomas Schumacher aka Electrochemie. Let's forget the pop and noisy remix by Chicks' On Speed and go to the other side where Finnish Ural 13 Diktators bring their usual dynamic HI-NRG sounds ! To end this EP, The Bikini Machine choose to revisit "Girl!" in a great 80's version... Check it !

Endrik Schroeder - Unknown forces EP - Interface 04

Under this "German" like name is hidden a very talented French artist ! Endrik, from Grenoble, delivers a dark and hypnotic bomb like we enjoy. Ideal soundtrack for syncoped and dull blue-green atmospheres, this three cuts electro EP (except "Basic Beat", an easy techno track) is feed with industrial sheets and XMF infra-bass style ("Intro", "Break Out" & "Space Kom"). Following The Hacker, James Moriarti or Oxia, this young producer has to be watched over !

A. Kremer vs A. Crash - Jenseits Der Weiss... - Decomplex-Audio 07

Obviously, this new 12'' from German Andreas Kremer is one of his hardest production after the "Multiplayer EP" released on Future Galactic ! The hard-techno meister on well-known labels Contrast, Holzplatten or Thrust hammers your mind and your body with an impressive display of distortion, rhythm breaks and saturations. Top quality "Firewire", a dancefloor hit for sure, seems to have been influenced by a Thomas Bangalter's title on Roulé rec. With a brilliant seventh release, Decomplex-Audio from label owner Harald Klotzberg shows the way to hard techno spirit.

Gaetano Parisio - Selection 98/00 - ART 10

Advanced Techno Research (ART) label was started in 1998 by Gaetano Parisio (one year after he created his other label Conform Records). Dedicated to dancefloors, most of the nine EP's released by the Neapolitan producer became big hits thanks to their high quality and efficiency. But as they were sold as limited edition, it was not easy to find... read more

m.i.a. - Schlußlicht - Sub Static 04

3 tracks by m.i.a. aka Michaela Grobelny : one blunted longplayer, a sweet house drives an endless dub atmosphere... Mostly influenced by Maurizio and Basic Channel but it sounds great ! On the written side : a minimal house tune, click and cuts built for ecstatic after hours. The last "Schlußlicht" is a pure piece of deep techno, m.i.a. exceed the overheard electro-dud and makes a sensual melody with more pumpin' drums. One more "really" great release from Sub static which performs his unique sound and style, more smooth and groovy than Köln "fractured" sound. We love u !

V/A - Oye Como Va remix - Howlin' 10

Una ambiante de fiesta para celebrar la decima produccion de esta marca 100% americana, instalada en Minneapolis. Boricua All Stars, composed of Melendez, Gruau, Benitez & Fresh, ensure the warm up with brilliant hip-hop breaks and trumpets based "Mondongo", a latino house hit for sure. In the same vein, Freddie (Fresh) enhances on B-side classic "Oye Como Va", written and produced in the early 60's by Tito Puente and recently remixed by Prof Angel Dust. A must for hot melodies lovers !!

Per Mikael & Magnus Hjelte - Night Shifted EP - GFR 1204

Swedish guys delivering some funky trax. B side belongs to Mikael - b1 is detroitish, reminds of some Kanzleramt stuff, b2 - not so deep, but just as effective and so infectious. A side sees Mikael remixing their cooperation track (a1) and it's a job well done. Very groovy. A2 track (M. Hjelte) is harder and darker, but still funky. It is the closest description of GFR sound. Very playable. Hear them out.

Eedio - Connect - Bpitch Control 25

What a nice surprise to find a French producer on this new release of the famous label from Berlin ! Eedio is a talented artist living in Clermont-Ferrand / France and shows that electro is not only reserved to our German or American friends. The first track "Future Combinaison", that has vocals by Nancy Fortune (who appeared previously on I-F... read more

Ural 13 Diktators - Total Destruction remixes - Forte 11

Brand new versions of Total Destruction (the amazing Ural 13's LP) mixed up by another 80's fans. Dmx Krew (Rephlex) loads a soft electro tune, melodic and groovy, kind of Expo 2000 (Kraftwerk). Ural 13 Diktators themselves reworks 2 tracks: more housy kick than the original, invasion of funny bleeps taken from a lo-fi videogame and always this unique Hi-NRG sound ! The Bikini Machine give a killer track : heady melody, smash hit pop song and a crazy bassline tweaked at Cerrone's pool ! Forget Daft Punk and Bob Sinclar, Ural 13 Diktators are the true kings of electronic pop...

V/A - United efforts volume four - Facets 02

Facets is one of Swedish labels that are part of Backbone Rhythms. So we could have expected dark and pumpin' techno usually made by Nordic producers but this time this is house and minimal techno ! Deep house thanks to the beautiful tracks by Ewan Jansen and J & D... and minimal techno with the first cut by M. Oblong and the last one with higher bpm's by Voco Derman & Geoff White. A great release, watch for the next ones !!

The Modernist & Bochum Welt - Eldar - Art of Perception 02

Second release of the amazing project A.O.P., The Modernist and Bochum Welt give a musical interpretation of the "eldar". On the logo side the Modernist (Popular, Pop Up) goes on with his unique own style : sweat pumpin' tech' house, minimal and repetitive. On the other side, Bochum Welt (Rephlex) forgets the"4tothefloor" and delivers a great soundtrack, an ambiguous mood with dark strings, bubble bass and funny game effects. A successful 12" for the epic but naive music of the "eldar".

Polytron / Vulva featuring Gameboy - Kostamus 04

Electro music is not only reserved to German, French or US producers. Robotic vocoder, TR 808, nothing is missing on this dark 7" by those obscures artists based in Finland. Both Polytron & Vulva offer rough, syncoped and very old school cut. Back to the roots ! ;)
