AutoBot-1000 - Electro 1+1=2 - Hoodwink 44

Unknown but full of talent AutoBot has perfectly assimilate early works from Kraftwerk and Cybotron. In two cuts with an old school spirit, this north Carolina artist offers on DJSploo's label a successful demonstration of futuristic electro funk. Lyrics, vocoder, syncopated rhythm, nothing is missing on this EP, close to some of Dave Clarke's production.

Tom Clark - Laylines vol.2 - Morris / Audio 03

Morris / Audio is the house part of the family made of Swiss labels Phont, Speaker Attack and Superbra. This third release which was delayed for some time (the previous EP was out about one year ago) is done by German producer Tom Clark. Deep sounds, vocoded samples, groovy rhythm, the artist coming from Berlin shows one more time he's very talented with this music style (listen to the beautiful "Legendary Times"). Check also the great deep electro title "Sphinx". After this perfect comeback, we hope the next Morris / Audio records will be out regularly.

Chromatix - Multiplayer EP - World Electric 10

EP of the month ! After their remarkable "Nanotech" release on World Electric 06, Spelunk label owner David Moxon and Stephen Machnowski aka Electro Music Specialist come back on Bolz Bolz's syncopated label with an amazing four cuts EP ! A very high quality record of nu school electro with analogical effects ("Force Feedback") and incredible sounds taken for instance on TV series (listen to "Assembler" and remember Steve Austin). Essential !

Sikora - Metropoler - Klang 51

The innovative label Klang has mostly influenced electro and techno in Europe. Sikora continues to push techno house mix-up in the future : 2 tracks of well-finished rhythm, funky filtered synth, slow oppressive melody and a great dub atmosphere. Stefan Straka is also up to downtempo stuff, wicked bleep electronica just to chill and a noisy abstract hip-hop kind of dj Krush.

Phil Davis - Unschuldsengel EP - Decomplex Audio 06

Only for connoisseurs ! Co-writer of Decomplex 01, 02 & 03, German Phil Davis appears solo for the first time in this successful dark and linear EP. Melancholic ("Unschunldsengel"), excited ("Der abdere war's"), severe ("Unschuldslamm") or hypnotising ("Ich Weiss Von Nichts"), this four hard techno cuts works on contrast and atmosphere. The apocalypse approaches and you'll celebrate it !

Mouse on Mars - Actionist respoke - Sonig 18

12" taken from "idiology", a sublime album between Aphex Twin and Wishmountain and, yes, herbert gives his unique style on this respoke. Original dark ravy synth, punk vocoded voice play in opposite with housy' groove and clicks and cuts from Herbert. A really powerful tune for dancefloor and blunted headz !

Andreas Kremer - Maniac Nurses find Extasy EP - UMF 13

One of the actual hard techno masters is back, on French label managed by Marc Twins ! Faithful to himself on Holzplatten, Thrust, Tinnitus and soon on Decomplex Audio (#07), Andreas Kremer aka A. Crash blows energy, groove and saturation into this three cuts EP. The devastated "Aussen Kommando", on b-side, is a perfect demonstration of his talent. Aggressive, efficient, brilliant !

Marco Lenzi - Unfinished Business EP - Fine Audio Recordings 30

Let's talk about numbers : two tracks, eight loops, a very minimal techno sound and a 30th brilliant release from this German label called Fine Audio Recordings !!! Freddy Fresh - Abstract Funk Theory - Logic records

It's funny to imagine Freddie at home, around thousands of releases from his personal collection, trying to select which ones could figure on this compilation ! Waiting for the "Music For Swingers LP" new release in June on X-Sight records in NY, Mister Analog, known because of his incredible mixes, offers a wonderful and open ears journey into... read more

John T. Chance's - Escape from ... - Interzone 05

The French label celebrate its 5th EP with a nice 10" that is a tribute to the director / compositor John Carpenter, and especially to his movie "Escape from New-York" made in 1981. The true fans should appreciate the design and the texts inspired by the film and also some audio samples coming from the soundtrack. The first track by EAL, very strong, will probably drive dancefloors directed by DJ's playing good German techno. All electro 80's addicts should like the other brilliant track by David Grumel, who appears for the first time on Interzone Records. Enjoy it and don't miss it !!

Dron, Rauschfaktor & üNN himself offer four very interesting versions of "Three Pilots" & "This Time tomorrow", both original tracks taken from Frank Rückert's (aka üNN) acclaimed album "Relief" last year. David Grumel - Linoleum Love EP - Discomobile 03

This French label from Annecy releases this month a lovely EP with jazzy trip-hop sounds (the original track by David Grumel) but also 80's good vibes (the auto-remix) and house feelings with a good remix by Dan Electro. Just enjoy it !
