After only one release on Raum...Musik (#16) published a long time ago, and just before its whole EP on Sub Static, Michael Langlois brings here only one track coming with two remixes. "start" is a deep and minimal house title which whispered sampled voice intensifies the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Dub Taylor's version is a little bit harder, also stronger and therefore in minimal techno style. Finally, M.i.a. brings also a pumpy touch to the track while keeping the original house spirit. Excellent.

After Switzerland, back in Germany !! Escaped from Déjà-Vu records, Robert Natus takes refuge today on Düsseldorf label and confirms with three rich and varied cuts all what we said favorably of this artist in a previous review. Without compromise on "Finale Cola", a straight hard techno track, Holzplatten new member shows a funky side on spacey and brilliant "Back to Lady" before he closes this EP with famous "Dramatik", a very experimental and distorted phreaky track. The Canadian producer is back for the second time on Sender Records from Berlin with the typical sound of German labels. On the first side : a hypnotising minimal techno track combining power and dark strings... maybe something like some stuff by Paul Kalkbrenner (Bpitch Control). David Lazzari delivering some very powerful beats on A1 (Phantom). Just imagine a bunch of scared aliens running away when you turn up this monster killer! ;) Kicking stuff. B side is more of a peaceful kind. 'Rotor' keeps up the pace, but with some relaxing post-battle sounds. 'Vertigo' stays up to the beat and brings some beautiful chords laced with pounding drums, which is the characteristic of Lazzari's production. Keep your phazers ready !

Only two tracks on the ninth Sub Static release but what tracks !! The German producer René Breitbarth, who already appeared several times on Treibstoff, shows one more time that he's a master in the minimal house style. Two fresh and hypnotising long-players made of many sounds appearing slowly then disappearing to come back later while you didn't understand anything... A clever and fine work that should touch you. This maxi single is a real refreshment on Zync. After a series of Redhead and Marco Bailey releases, here's something different. Hertz & Johan Bacto on A side (Dirty Crutch) serve us with a funked up percussion and some great break workouts. On the other side we have Andy Slate, Alexander Koning & TBK teamed up to deliver 'Twisted Samba' with a recognisable rhythm, but this time it's massive - powerful and groovy. Ultimate DJ tools !
