Ronny Priest - Tracked Romance - Forte 13

One more time, Christian Morgenstern label welcomes a new talented producer. This time, it's Ronny Priest, a Playstation and game-computer musician. Working with its computer only, he shows that it's not necessary to own a lot of music gear to produce good tracks. "Tracked Romance" (pt1 above all) will remember the old good time of German techno... read more

Orion Muzik - Organic dub series vol. 1 - Frozen 01

Frozen is the new label of Italian producers Carlo Ilic Notarangelo (Random / Noize) & Danilo Vigorito. The first "Organic dub" series will be made of three EP's and it will be followed later by another series called "Evolution funk". All this volumes will be produced by Danilo Vigorito. It's very promising because we find here the famous style coming from Naples, somewhere between house and techno : groovy rhythm, phat bass, deep sounds and a minimal & mental side. For sure, Danilo is successfully following his compatriots Marco, Gaetano and Rino... Can't wait for the next Frozen release !

Nuwalker feat. Ken Cesar - Pro.files - Cheap cd08

The Pusinger and Neugebauer' label is still the leader of electro and other related groove. Nuwalker plays a singular house using broken beat, electro strings with the cheap touch of humour (engine sample is in fashion since Brinkmann did it on Max Ernst). It fits to Ken Cesar who delivers a brilliant flow. Between electro and 2step, "pro.files" shows the future of vocal house and the soulful cover of "I was made for lovin' you" (Kiss) is unique !

Steril - Klinique EP - Lasergun 10

This 10th release of Lasergun label by the German producer is surprising. Hard sounds have replaced the usual C-64 sounds used by Steril. The EP starts with an accelerated version of "Like a mystery", techno title coming from his previous LP "Robofication" released last year on Erkrankung Durch Musique. "Klinique" is something between dark... read more

Robert Natus - Schranz Desaster EP - Déjà-Vu 03

Just before the release of a double 12'' written & produced by hard-techno master Andreas Kremer, this Switzerland based label welcomes four cuts from Robert Natus. Young German artist shows on its first appearance a rare ease to manipulate machines. Made of dark and kickin' sounds, "Night Desaster" and almost all "Night Desaster 2" should ravage dancefloors. As for "Schranz Desaster" & "Monakko", those tracks will attract DJ's focused on subtleties.

Dialogue - bottled ep - Highgrade 04

The same people in another order : this time, German producer Tom Clark welcomes on his own label Stefan Riesen (Morris / Audio and Superbra manager to name a few) and Niels Jensen. As we could expect, the duo brings three minimal house tracks. My favourites are "red rock" and "bin444" thanks to its piano melody. Check also the remix of this track done by Tom Clark with additional short voice samples.

Useless - HP 03 - Hors Phase 03

Useless, who has already produced the two first releases on this young French label from Roubaix, strikes back with a three cuts EP full of emotion. This minimal tech'house lover mostly influenced by US sound delivers a groovy music based on beautiful and hypnotic layers. While "Von Menschen und Maschinen" & "16:23" return into Detroit outstanding imprint, "Pretty Smile" illustrates how Useless gathers together energy and deepness. A very pleasant EP !

Donald - Interzone 06

We'll not thank Ingrid enough for having forwarded demos from this amazing artist to Interzone label owner Franck aka Paton. Beyond the anecdote, although we are really proud of it, the whole atome crew has approved this very kitsch and modern EP. In a three electro-techno cuts, this artist based in south of France has succeed to establish its... read more

Snookerboy - my lovely pixel - Trapez 08

With each new release of this sub-division of German label Traum, we can expect high quality music. On the first side : deep house with many nice sounds and a good work regarding the track structure... On the other side : a first track more minimal but also more efficient thanks to its accentuated hi-hats and percussions. The last title is also minimal but more experimental and is mainly made of a chopped rhythm. Check it !

The Joyrider - DSS EP - SMB 07

Less electro than last SMB release but just dark as well, this 12'' will satisfy lovers of sensational experiences. In a wild breakbeat close to Biochip C's productions on Drop Bass Network or Praxis labels (under the name "the Speed freak"), The Joyrider offers a devil two cuts EP based on industrial sounds. Turning around 140bpm, this successful picture disc (let's check the cover !) will take a new dimension in a Hardcore mix.

Deetron - Cut Back EP - Phont 19

With this new release by Swiss producer Sam Geiser aka Deetron, Phont Music shows one more time that it's one of the main labels of tech'house scene. So, four pumpin' and linear cuts dedicated to techno dancefloors and especially to skilled DJ's. "Main Game" is different from the other titles with its long break made of a dark string... Check it !

Transparent Sound - Echoes Beyond Tomorrow - Electrix 07

The Electro label from UK honours Miami sound !!! Written and produced by Q. Bramley, M. Brown, T.Harris & T. Baggely, a brilliant band that already appeared with successful Eps on Mass Transit, Release or Abstrakt Dance labels, excellent "Echoes Beyond Tomorrow" evolves into high quality electro and melancholic nu-breaks. Full of strings, A-side long-player turns into wonderful nostalgic remix on the other side while last track offers a old school vocoderised beats version. It is not surprising that this 12'' appears on Laurent Garnier's October charts !!!
