Dub Taylor - Shoptalk - Morris / Audio 06

Like his compatriot Tom Clark, Berlin producer Dub Taylor delivers three brilliant tracks on Swiss label Morris / Audio. Deep, minimal and hypnotising house with female vocals on "Turnin'" or male vocals on captivating "Dreamin'" which could be looped and listen to for hours and hours... Check it !

Netzwerk Frankfurt - Hot body - Psi49net 012

Psi49net has mostly influenced electro for the last few years. Ironically, Netzwerk Frankfurt presents two tracks of stompin' and catchy' techno : 4tothefloor rhythm, Detroit' strings and above all a touch of sex (real orgasm sample...? Lil'Louis of the year). Netzwerk gives his respect to 90's rave with a massive worried synth, powerful but only old ravers, like me, can understand, eheh !

Rino Cerrone - Timeless EP - GFR 1205

Tech house at it's finest. Rino confirms once more he's to be considered as one of the best producers at the moment on this very scene. Recognisable massive grooves makes his tracks perfect dj tools (he's also well known for his 3 deck skills). Recently he signed a contract with ELP Medien Frankfurt which is gonna be the new distributor for his... read more

Pierantonio Gualtieri - Everything is connected - Urban Mantra 10

Urban Mantra crew continues with series of very good releases. This time it's the one from label boss Pierantonio Gualtieri. From chaotic rhythms with experimental edge (A1), weird industrial cut (A2), to more straight and powerful techno (B1) and interesting melodic tribalish piece(B2). It's all there for your listening pleasure, all tracks are very useful and playable ! Recommended.

??? - ??? - Deepchord 12

You can watch carefully this record, nothing will tell you who is behind it. No name, no references, almost nothing. It's only when browsing the web site we learn that this label is based in Detroit. Basic Channel influence is very obvious : the first side starts with a minimal long-player of about 13 minutes. On the other side, the first track is more in a dub style whereas the last one is composed of a typical US synth sound. So this record is strongly recommended to fans of minimal techno like Maurizio, Thule Records or Sub Static to name a few...

AFX - Men 1 - ???

Two unreleased tracks from Aphex Twin aka Richard D. James. Influenced by acid-house, a 303 acid bassline goes round on an ecstatic vintage breakbeat. Basically for the floor, it turns to an incredible jam : AFX cuts and pastes everything. Compared to this, "windowlicker" sounds like a poor poumtchak... Behind this noisy feeling, AFX experiments and opens more doors than everyone. Waiting for "drukqs" impatiently !

Soul Mate - PlaySmart - Superbra 14

The 14th release of Swiss label Superbra is done by Soul Mate. On the A-side, a classical tech'house track : heavy bassline, a lot of percussions and a short vocal sample. The other side is better with a brilliant deep and pumpin' techno tune made of hypnotising arpeggio, drivin' rhythm and nice strings. Somewhere between Heiko Laux and Aril Brikha... Check it !

Marco Bailey - Impanema EP - Zync 22

Another massive, massive release on Zync ! This time it's Marco Bailey with four pumping/ percussive killers ! A1 (Impanema) brings latino madness once again on the dancefloors. Same tune remixed by Redhead (A2) carries a catchy vocal loop with some uncompromising beats ! Bryan Zentz - Further Abductions of Bryan Never - Electrix 06

Maybe less known than it's German neighbour, English electro has however a strong reputation thanks to such international artists as Keith Tenniswood, Bass Junkie and Cisco Ferreira to name a few. Created last year in London, Electrix Records confirms its growing status following musical works from older Breakin', Rephlex or Penalty Records. After... read more

V/A - Stjartlapp Present Sweden : Lesson Two - Stjartlapp 1202

Another astonishing release on this new Swedish label owned by Stockholm underground character Emil Ovemar. Four excellent tracks by well known and established Swedish artists : Joel Mull - Guardian Of The Gate (A1), melodic techno piece, with housey edge and slightly deeper atmosphere. Unlike Joel Mull, Hardcell stays faithful to his hard techno... read more

V/A - Automatik Lover - Leitmotiv 07

A new shared work between Paris and Stuttgart : after the EP of French producer Lab Insect on Lasergun, it's Savas Pascalidis' turn to appear on the seventh release of Leitmotiv label based in Paris. On the first side, the German producer delivers a great hypnotising techno track with pumpin' rhythm and a huge bass sound. On the other side, the tune done by both Savas Pascalidis and Lab Insect is also successful : distorted rhythm, heavy bassline and dark melody. Fans of German techno sound should like this 10" EP which graphic artwork is really nice too.
