Rhythm & sound w/ Cornel Campbell - King In My Empire - Burial 06

All of us know those shop assistants promising that a new product is far better than the previous one. We laugh at them : we are not so stupid ! With Burial, this is the same thing except we don't laugh : their seller is so talented that we are fooled each time. The same record, or almost, and we buy it... but how is it possible ?!

Binge & Purge - Wait, it's fantastic - Mental Groove 19

Binge & Purge aka Mark Verbos and Tommie Sunshine, the Berlin - Chicago connection, between mental techno stuff and dirty house. The result is crazy : dancefloor electro with vocal loop and melancholic synths : sweet & sexy techno based on 80's bassline and strong sounds. The whole LP is influence by 90's rave synth style such on the last track : a huge extatic anthem a little bit trancy... A must to put near "Love explosion" from Alden Tyrell ! Certainly one of the most interesting LP of the year which gratify all electro-freaks and techno fans... FANTASTIC !

Herbert - Leave me now - Soundslike / !K7

Sensuality is getting out of Herbert's music. One of the most interesting artist of the electronic scene, accompanied by pianist Phil Parnel and Dani Siciliano vocals : this trio could represent the future jazz (their live performance in Montreux festival was incredible !). Two good remixes come on this EP (Recloose & Richard Devine) event if they don't equal the original traks. A must !

David Duriez - D-Drums-Smoked EP - Discomobile 04

The last release from Discomobile, French label from Annecy, with a well-known artist David Duriez (Brique Rouge, 20/20 Vision). The 4 tracks sound like his dj set: deep & funky house with a touch of disco. "Smoked" kills the floor with a strong hypnotic house, extatic drums as on Poker Flat. On the flip side "Our guide to nowhere" is more clubby : heady strings and a disco gimmick. Discomobile works on his own style... Support them !

Tobias Schmid / Tzoukmanis - Audision - Playmade 01

Welcome to Playmade, a brand new label from Germany, close to Forcetrack and Sub Static. As usual, the influence of Maurizio is here : blunted minimal tech-house to hear or dance ! The long-player is a great floorfiller, more pumpin' with an ecstatic trancy synth. A good first 12" and a brilliant design website, so check Playmade during the next month for good stuff !

Morgan Geist - Super - Environ 12

Acclaimed by the whole community with the "metro area" series, Morgan Geist still performs his electro fusion. "24K" is simply a big, big disco anthem : soft rhythm, piano and melancholic violins. A timeless tune which could take place in Larry Levan's set. On the flip side, "Lullaby" flows a slow electro beat : stompin' synth and complex rhythm. Kind of future jazz jam which becomes incredible with the sweet trumpet of J. Duncan... magic !
A must to buy if you want to hear the future of house...

Andreas Kremer - Das Letzte Hend Hat Keine Taschen - Salpeter 06

With Andreas Kremer, you can always expect the best in electronic music. And this new inspired 12'' on German label managed by Peter Sal & Chris Nait is another proof of his immense talent. Using same ingredients (destructured rhythms and distorted sounds) that gave him success on Holzplatten, Contrast and soon Déjà-Vu, genius A. Crash delivers four dark and pumpin' techno cuts, with experimental atmospheres on B-side. Another masterpiece on Andreas' discography.

Redhead - Icelandic EP - Zync 21

Redhead delivers 4 awesome trax following the success of 'Humanized EP' on this great Swedish label. Pumping & phunky grooves targeted directly to the dancefloor. Pick : B2 (Across the Harbor) - it'll remind you of Soulwatcher on Primevil (Redhead & M. Bailey project). Check out some dj charts - this EP is at the top of most of them already. A must have ! Released on August 27th. [Watch out for his forthcoming album also on Zync]

Alexander Kowalski - Echoes LP - Kanzleramt 55

Amazing debut album by 23 years old Alexander Kowalski. Each one of the 10 album tracks can stand on it's own, and yet all of them together make one unbelievable collective. Regardless the fact that no vocals are featured on it, this album tells a whole story, and it's on you to receive the message that Alexander is trying to tell. But again whole... read more

Electric Envoy - Electronic mess EP - Frisbee 39

May be their names will not remind you anything even if you already heard about Alex Bau & Sveb Dedek's sound. After various EP's like "Basic Implant" or "Basic Cell" released on Audio, Touchtone, Rotation (owned by Dave Angel !) or Shokoy, this Bavarian duo delivers a beautiful 12'' on Frankfort's best label Frisbee. Three techno cuts focused to dancefloor with brilliant "Electronic Mess" track on A side, a solid long-player blending dark-techno rhythm and adrenaline's rise. B side is more quiet, dipping us in funky and minimal atmospheres thanks to successful "Choice PT. 2" among others.

Inigo Kennedy - Until Six Arrives - Asymmetric 06

Inigo Kennedy seems to move boundaries of techno with each new release on his own Asymmetric imprint. (A1) Driving mechanical techno cut with strong percussions, (A2) Extremely powerful techno piece with efficient downfalls that will rock any floor. (B1) Very deep techno, even melancholic at some point. (B2) Another slightly deeper cut, with interesting play of sounds in the background, just enough to bring a doze of tension. Apart from these four tracks this excellent releases also features five solid locked grooves for the third turntable.

Exzakt - Electro Breakz Comp. Vol. 06 - Street Beat Records

United States first source of electronic compilations, Street Beat Records, based in Miami, had to stand out the return of classic Electro Breakz series after years offline.
