Labinsect - Bomb Alert - Lasergun 09

Once again, Olivier Rossi appears on a German label : after his release on Kurbel some months ago, he's back on Savas Pascalidis label. We expected some deep or crazy / disco tracks like some of the last Lasergun's but Labinsect chose to make three techno titles with hard and raw sounds. Perfect for the dancefloor but not as impressive as the previous Kurbel 19 and Lasergun 05 releases of the Parisian producer.

V/A - Goom tracks vol.1 - Goom 010

What a great design ! It's not all, Goom releases electro in his whole style, from downtempo to electric d'n'b, without falling in cheap 80's groove. Isan and M83 (check the M83 LP) go on with electro pop : instrumental and melancholic vintage synth, kind of "more in the virgin suicide". Anne Laplantine brings her sweet & sexy touch on "this... read more

Kosmonaut - Waiting for you (at M.I.R.) - Ural 13 Rec. 05

For sure, you will like the nice design of the sleeve and the lovely little intro tune remembering video games. But regarding the other tracks, some of you will hate them because they are coming from the famous HI-NRG label from Helsinki ! It doesn't matter : the true fans will notice that "Waiting for you" title by Kosmonaut is very close to Ural... read more

Peter Sal - Orange Future EP - Salpeter 03

If you missed beginnings of this young and promising label, be aware that it's never too late to make up for lost time with this essential third reference. Better known in Germany under "Polytechnique" name, René and Chris have regular solo projects (Peter Sal and Lars Peet for the first one, Chris Nait for the second) and distillate from live to live an innovating minimal sound. Close to now dead E-Com label productions, Peter Sal delivers four techno cuts focused on variations. Dark and very mental, this EP will guarantee hypnotic atmospheres !!! Very good !

Andreas Kremer - Let's Rock It EP - Kazumi 24

Dancefloor, massive, irresistible, adjectives will not fail to describe this new 12" from Andreas Kremer ! Three hard-techno tracks of pure madness, built on heavy bassline and blasting distortions. No doubt, our German master took pleasure in producing this EP. A summer bomb on Holzplatten's subdivision Kazumi rec !

Johan Bacto - Hertz Hunter - Zync 20

Another one from Bacto's kitchen. Fine 2 tracker on the A side sees the original mix, groovy snare drum driven phunky stab stuff. On the flip side Redhead in his well known manner - pumping rhythm with some dancefloor killa breaks - excellent as always. Watch out for his coming Icelandic EP on Zync 21. Groovy baby.

Waldorf - You're my Disco - A Touch of Class Recordings 03

As you probably know, 80's are still present in many minds today... and not only in Europe since this EP comes from New-York City. To be exact, the label is based in United States but the three tracks have been written by an Italian duo from Milan ! The original version of "You're my Disco" is very deep and funky with lyrics perfectly singed :... read more

Acid Scout - Navigator EP - Kurbel 20

I'm waiting for a long time the come back of Acid Scout aka Richard Bartz himself. At the first listening, a little bit disappointed : it sounds house ! Anyway, the unique Bartz' style is still here : strong rhythm and groovy drums. "What you think" is a great floor stomper, clubby garage vocal and funky tech' house. Get down and sweet with "Sexe... read more

V/A - Endlich Fünfzig EP - Holzplatten 501

Created in 1995, Düsseldorf Techno Reference celebrates today its 50th production !! Back from a successful tour in Germany and Switzerland in May, Mastermind Brixton, owner of Holzplatten rec and Kazumi's subdivision, gathered together the actual top producers around a common theme : a Fanon Flowers voice's sample on an answering machine (cf.... read more

Panoptica - Panoptica - Certificate 18 CD 11

This Mexican producer from Tijuana appears for the first time on Paul Arnold's label and he will surprise you ! Panoptica gives eight tracks in electronica or electro / breakbeat styles (which are in addition to drum' n' bass the main styles of the English label) but also in a minimal and deep house way. For sure, Roberto Mendoza has good European... read more

Luygi Van - Composed Technology - Kazumi 23

Carrying on in one's own sweet way, this brilliant Holzplatten rec. subdivision is happy to welcome top dancefloor producer Luygi Van ("Brussel" ?) on its successful 23th release. Willingly minimal on A-side (let's check fearsome "Harmonikarmx" & "Green Drive") but hard and groovy on the other ("Forrest Mood" et "Modulation"). "Composed Technology" EP is a new wicked techno production in a Headroom style. Congratulations.
