What a great design ! It's not all, Goom releases electro in his whole style, from downtempo to electric d'n'b, without falling in cheap 80's groove. Isan and M83 (check the M83 LP) go on with electro pop : instrumental and melancholic vintage synth, kind of "more in the virgin suicide". Anne Laplantine brings her sweet & sexy touch on "this activity" with spoken words like Miss Kittin, her second track is an underground house hit with a not so simply groove just to shut up the Daft Punk (listen to "Anne Laplantine live in Dijon"). A little preference for André Estermann and Cosmodrome, "music smells butter with you" (eh eh) : build for ecstatic dancefloors, dark and ravy synth and a huge new-wave bassline... a must. Home-listening is not forgotten : Steve and Rob play the tension on complicated drums such as Pozuznik meanwhile Bertuf and Mils make as well as Warp artists. So an amazing compilation, pure electro quality with human feeling... It must be the summer' soundtrack... www.goomdisques.com Chaton, 18/07/2001
