After several months without any release, World Electric was letting serious fears hang over its durability. Thanks god, it's nothing of the sort. Back from a long US tour, Andreas Bolz, known for his incredible capacity to discover new talents, launches today Volsoc, no doubt one of the most expected electro revelations this year. Formed by Justin Maxwell & Jean Paul Bondy, L.A duo offers in its first vinyl output a lesson of maturity and musical innovations. With awesome sense of groove and deliberate wish to sound different from current productions, both men appear as truly dancefloor machines, able to mix vocoded lyrics, powerful syncopated rhythm and Sci-fi influenced synthesisers. Dark on "Compuphonic Intelligence" in overture, team explores experimental ways on "Jrumm" before ending on with percussive and funky "Shout Out". The title benefits of a brilliant rework by a John Tejada (7th City, Palette, Parallel, Pornflake, Playhouse, Plug Research) obviously inspired. A great band has born, with fearsome potential! www.worldelectric.de www.code404.com/volsoc Nexus 6, 19/12/2002
