This compilation is perfect to (re)discover the main tracks taken from the ninth first records of German imprint Areal Records. Founded in Cologne more than two years ago by Matthias Klein (Konfekt), Sebastien Riedl (Basteroid) and Michael Schwanen (Metope), Areal is releasing the electro / techno experiments of its three creators who all show savoir-faire and originality. And that's what we find on this CD mixed by their friend Jan Eric Kaiser : minimal style tracks, sometimes raw, dark or also groovy and frequently unique. Some pearls of this selection : "rex(pol)" & "Jez[Sof]" by Konfekt, "Noforce" & "Livedriver" (nicely sang by Ada) by Metope or also "Navigator" by Weltzwei - a track co-written by Matthias Klein and Benno Blome from Sender Records. Moreover this collaboration is not surprising because these two labels share a very close style. A great compilation recommended to fans of this other German sound.
