Started in 1995 in New York, Andrew A. Price label takes up again with Stephen Mind aka E.M.S (Electro Music Specialist), one of its first signs. This fellow friend, analog sounds freak and handyman (he builds by himself synthesisers he uses), author of three EP's and a forthcoming album on Satamile, delivers here an electro deep beauty in a old school style. On A side, "Colonized" offers a brilliant use of TB-303 thanks to discrete acid modulations. More focused on drums, "DDDDDDD" develops a sound close to Elektrolux outputs, a light and atmospheric string coming from here to there over a syncopated rhythm. Register changes on the flip with "Rythmus Machine", a melodic tune that evolves into dark and progressive genre, and "Plt + Lounge_Eur", a relaxing downtempo electronica cut. This EP is calmer than previous releases but a little more subtle. www.satamile.com www.electromusic.com Nexus 6, 24/09/2003
