A brand new Slovenian Record label emerged from Umek's fellow country man, Santivo (Planet Rhythm, Phont). Umek graces this debut release of TIAL Recordings with a slightly different approach from his usual techno productions. As the product information sheet notifies: Influenced by a party of Electronic Dub in his hometown, Umek returned straight to the studio and immediately worked on producing some deep and dubby Sci Fi Tracks. It's not a surprise that all the track names have pharmaceutical names such as Conexan & Bitoran on A-Side and Dropanol & Minotan on B-Side. A variety of sounds, from dark, dubby and minimalistic tracks accompanied by huge delays and eerie background atmospheres, to melodious ones with arpeggios and mellow chords and hits. A fresh release that delivers a spanking new side of the multitalented Mr Uros Umek. www.soundoflj.com/artists/umek.html www.primedistribution.co.uk PanK, 20/10/2003
