Three years ago, the French duo released "Champagne ep", dedicated to 80's groove, since this time the hype grows and now everybody makes his own Moroder stuff ! Their awaited "First album" is huge : loud and fat sounds of the Hacker links the casual spoken words of Miss Kittin (check her work with Golden boy and the amazing Felix Da Housecat), a perfect mix up between dancefloor and pop. "Life on MTV" and "Frank Sinatra 2001", with hot lyrics in DJ Assault' style, are already ecstatic anthems but i'd rather prefer "You and us", an endless acid house roadtrip which sounds like Nugroove label. The influence from New Order and Cabaret Voltaire is obviously present but not as other releases, Miss Kittin & The Hacker don't use "cliché" and easy 80's gimmicks. The "first album" is sexy, unique... a must to buy ! Check it !
