After 15 EP's, Lasergun is now publishing its first 2x12" done by Hakan Lidbo. Some of you may be surprised to find this famous producer on the German label because he is best known for his numerous minimal house & techno releases (more than an hundred !). But his appearance on Lasergun can be easily explained : he's just went back into the 80's ! Moreover, the sleeve is saying that some works were recorded between 1981 & 1984. True or not ? Probably another mystery... But it could be true because the sound of the Swedish "veteran" is radically electro - melodious on "Our Man In Vienna", funky & pumpin' on "Disco Macho" and "Jet Set", melancholic on "Synthe Noir" and "Vector X-Y", fresh, funny and a little bit naïve on the dancefloor tune "Sexy Robot". Hakan Lidbo uses also beautiful vocoderized voices on some tracks (for example on the "Sexy Robot" original version that features a so lovely break) or industrial / ebm influenced ones ("Body Building"). To conclude, the height 80's titles are strongly recommended to all our nostalgic electro lovers friends !!
